Bigger capacity, greater process reliability and increased scope for the future

March 2026

A new ultrapure water system has been put into operation at QUESTALPHA’s Eschenburg site. This will enable us to support our growth in medical technology reliably and maintain our high standards of purity, quality, and stable processes.

Ultrapure water is essential in our production process. It is required for processing medical sponges and application components, enabling materials made of cotton and regenerated cellulose to be thoroughly cleaned and prepared for sensitive medical applications. The requirements for water quality and process reliability are therefore very high.

With the new plant, QUESTALPHA is responding to dynamic developments in recent years. The new acquisition focuses on capacity, flexibility, and security of supply. The new solution has been designed to be powerful, space-efficient, and future-proof. Existing components could be integrated into the overall concept, which further improves resource utilization.

It was important to us not only to meet today's needs, but also to consider the next stage of development. The system has a modular design and can easily be relocated to our future production environment later. This combination of technical precision, efficiency and foresight is what makes the project so valuable to us.

In collaboration with our partner EnviroFALK, we have developed a water treatment system optimally suited to the requirements of modern medical technology. The published project report outlines the background and technical details, and the accompanying video offers further insights into the project.
